I recommend Aperture Priority Mode to all photographers, ESPECIALLY BEGINNERS. It is a good way to step into manual controls, while not fully diving into it. It lets you focus more on composition and depth of field, which is important when you are only starting off.
Aperture Priority is a mode in your camera that will let you adjust the aperture of the camera, and the shutter speed will be adjusted automatically in order to get the proper exposure. This will let you focus more on composition and depth of field, and worry less about getting the right settings in order to get the proper exposure. The exposure can then be adjusted using exposure compensation to either increase or decrease the exposure that the camera gives you. This means that you will still get the flexibility of adjusting the exposure of your image if you are not happy with the reading that your camera gives you.
