The appearance of the first blue moon on Halloween in 19 years was an ideal opportunity for California-based photographer Craig Philpott to capture the event using timelapse photography.
Philpott tweeted that he used a Panasonic HC-X2000 professional camcorder to capture the footage on October 31.
He added that he edited the footage using Adobe Premiere Rush on his iPhone.
The sight, which usually arises every “two to three years,” according to the Guardian, occurs when a second full moon arrives in a month, and proved rich material for photographers.
